Handcrafted from English ash, this sculptural floor lamp explores the relationship between light, geometry, and natural form. Standing at two metres tall, the piece is formed from a lattice of hand-carved openings that appear organic and free flowing, yet each follows the sequence of a Fibonacci spiral found throughout nature in forms such as pinecones, shells, and flower structures.

Shaped to resemble a rising flame, the piece responds to the widespread felling of ash trees caused by ash dieback disease. Intended as both a quiet protest and a celebration of the material, the lamp gives new purpose to timber that might otherwise be discarded, highlighting the beauty and value of English hardwoods.

Every opening is individually carved and refined by hand, creating a complex surface that changes character with shifting light throughout the day. At its base, a 440mm helical LED filament bulb projects intricate shadows and patterns onto the surrounding walls, transforming the piece from tactile sculpture by day into an illuminated focal point by night.

Designed as both functional lighting and sculptural artwork, the lamp blurs the boundary between furniture, lighting, art and object.
