Handcrafted from rippled maple, this contemporary side table is inspired by the form of a falling water droplet. The legs merge seamlessly into one another to create a continuous sculptural form, with every surface carefully shaped so that no hard edges are visible from any angle.

The flowing geometry draws on natural movement and erosion, giving the piece a soft, organic presence while maintaining structural balance and stability. The highly figured rippled maple was selected for its depth and movement within the grain, which shifts subtly as light moves across the surface throughout the day.

Unlike many of my pieces, this table was finished with a slightly higher satin sheen to better reveal the figure of the timber and accentuate the depth of the rippled grain. Designed as both a functional side table and decorative object, the piece balances practical use with sculptural form.
